Company History   

Joanne Hughes Morscher founded the Royal School of Ballet, Inc. in 1998 to create a caring and nurtring environment where students can grow and learn about the dance profession.  The success of the educational philosophy and training is visible through the tremendous achievement of former students (see RSB Alumni) In an effort to further the mission of arts education and expand performance opportunities the Royal Youth Ballet Company has been created as a 501 (c)3 non-profit coporation financially separate from the Royal School of Ballet, Inc.

Royal Youth Ballet Company (RYBC) has trained numerous pre-professional dancers that have performed roles with national and international companies including Pennsylvania Ballet, Kirov Ballet, and with Radio City Music Hall's Rockettes.  RYBC  company memebrs have numerous performing opportunites through annual performances ( Nutcracker and Spring Concerts) and invitations to dance at outside performing venues such as the NorthEast Ohio Dance Festival & the Ohio Dance Festival.  RYBC has three times participated in the prestigious Youth America Grand Prix Competition in Chicago, Illinois, where our senior division dancers were awarded a third place in the semi-final round of competition in 2001 in 2004 & 2005 RYBC students were invited to the final round of competition in NYC to compete in the Ensemble category.  Also, in 2005 a RYBC dancer captured 2nd Place in Junior Contemporary Category in Chicago & went on to compete in the final round of competition in NYC.

Company members have been accepted to prestigious summer programs and university dance programs around the country.

RYBC was comprised of 30 talented young dancers ages 8-18.  All the members of  the Royal Youth Ballet Company  have been trained @ RSB.
