Step 1:

A help file is available at:
http://www.metrohealth.org/vpn

Fill out a "Remote Access" security form on the MIV at:
http://miv/Departments/Administration/Information_Services/Forms.asp

Once you have passed this hurdle, Open the Microsoft Internet Explorer Browser on a Windows computer (Win XP or newer).

Log onto:
https://sslvpn.metrohealth.org/

The username and password are the same that your would use to long onto a computer at Metro.

Step 2:
Click on the "MetroHealh VPN" thing.

The first time you do this, some software will be downloaded to make this work.  These are small "Network Access components" that will be installed on your computer.
Step 3:
Two little boxes will appear.  Click "Ok" on the "Message from webpage".

Do not close any of these two screens or you will be disconnected from the SSLVPN.  You may minimize them to your taskbar.

Step 4:
At this point, activate the "Remote Desktop Connection" feature of your home computer.  Click "Start", then "Accessories" and then "Remote Desktop Connection".

On some computers, you may find the "Remote Desktop Connection" at a different location.

If you are using the "Options" button, Go to the Step 8 below.

Step 8:
The "Options" button opens up a new line "Log on to:" which should say "METROHEALTH".   If it does not say "METROHEALTH", click the drop down arrow and

Got the Step 9 below.

Step 9:
Scroll up and down to find "METROHEALTH" option.  Log on using the same username and password that your would use to long onto a computer at Metro.

Step 10:
We have arrived.  Unless someone else is logged on, you should see a WinXP desktop with Compurecord applications and folders.  Ignore that big "MetroHealth PC Asset Tracking" box.

Step 11:
The Compurecord "Research" module and other goodies are located in the "Compurecord Applications" folder.

Step 12:
When done, "Log Off" as shown.  Hit "Start" and then "Log Off".  This will free up the computer for the next user.

Do not use the "Disconnect" option, as this will confuse the computer and it will think you are somehow still logged on, blocking other users.

Step 13:
Hit "Log Off".

Step 14:
Now you should be back to your own home computer desktop.  A final task is to "Logout" from the MetroHealth "Network Access" as shown.  If you don't do this, you will not be able to connect to your usual home internet connections.
